Mini - Rant:
Still is a very nice figure. I wonder if the penetration of the newest Cell Technologies have replaced basically the need for a faster broadband.
I mean with tablets, and Laptops, and even cellphones like the iphone and the Blackberry family, increasing their numerical legion into the millions, I wonder if it has gimped the development of faster and more powerful broadband, giving the focus only to the cell towers
There you have a very good example, with AT&T placing all of its focus and resoures into making the Cell towers for the incredible amount of iPhone users work half properly. Meanwhile Verizon is trying to attack the Fiber Optics and I don't know.
In the place where I live, Movistar - Telefonica, the company that works the most with RIM / Apple have already upgraded their cell towers twice this year, the amount of subscriptors for Cell Technologies have tripled, and now everyone has a Blackberry and an Iphone because they are in vogue. So it's the best and the worst cell company in the market. Best because they have glorified towers that actually work, and worst because they have the highest gross quantity of users.
Meanwhile the CANTV (that's the crappy unique ISP with broadband service) was disowned and stolen by the government by force and they fucked it up pretty bad.
You see, they have this investment with Verizon and Orange, and for 5 yeas, until 2005, they doubled the Broadband speed once Anually for everyone. The last time we got that was 1024KBPS (rather 900KBPS) and has staled ever since. With a lot of bad service, disservice areas and much more horror stories
Horror Story #1: A friend of my Magic The Gathering playgroup was without a phone and broadband for two months because a Chicken Truck rammed the Post and well... nobody bothered into fixing it for two months.
Horro Story #2: The neighbour from the building in front, was without communication for a month, because a bee Hive decided to attack the post where he was and destroyed it with honey and their tiny acid (YAY)
ANd.. well yeah. The company sucks much more now.
